Tilke Platteel-Deur and Hans Mensink met for the first time in 1979. They decided to cooperate to achieve their vision: creating a three year course for breathwork therapists. It proved a fruitful partnership. In 1986 the goal was achieved: from a five months course in 1979, the work evolved into the three-year training program that they had in mind. Because the training not only grew in length and quality, but the number of participants grew, it became necessary to attract other trainers. In 1992, Heidi Stein started to work as a trainer at the institute. Since 1998, Irene Aafjes is part of the team, and in 2009 Michael Drees began his work as co-trainer. |

Since 1979, Tilke Platteel-Deur has been practicing and teaching Breathwork, Voice Dialogue, NLP and the dynamics of relationship, in Holland, Germany, France and Spain. She has long-standing experience in both individual and group work as breathwork therapist, coach, supervisor and trainer. She studied the Psychology of Selves with Hal and Sidra Stone, NLP, Family Constellations, Polarity Therapy and Massage. She is an Avatar Master. From 2001-2004 she has been president of the International Breathwork Foundation, and in 2010 became a board member of the International Breathwork Training Alliance.
Hans Mensink has more than 30 years of experience in breathwork. In 1975, he began to research his own breath in all its forms and never dreamed of making breathing his profession. He studied ecology, but this study did not bring the answers to the vital questions of life. He travelled to India and was a student of Herakhan Baba. Hans is a gifted guitar player and uses his talent and passion for music during the morning chanting in the training. Hans did various training with Leonard Orr, Phill Laut and Sondra Ray, and did Tantra courses with Margot Anand.
Heidi Stein has been politically active, and discovered very soon that to change the world, one has to start with oneself. She did training in Bio Energetic Therapy and followed her three-year training at the Institute with Tilke and Hans. She built her own private praxis and began to work with groups. Since 1992, she works as trainer at the Institute for Integrative Breathwork Therapy. Through her natural way of working with the Inner Child, she can touch people on a deep level.
Irene did the three-year training at the Institute as well as the training for trainers. She has a private praxis since 1994 and is guest trainer at the Institute. She followed a three-year training in Spiritual Consciousness, and some work in Polarity Therapy, psychology, and listening to children. She did various workshops with Bert Hellinger.
